SISTER FRANCIS ROSSIGNOLI

SISTER FRANCIS ROSSIGNOLI

Sister Francis was born in Brantford in 1924. The Rossignoli home was filled with music and music remained an important part of Francis‘ life as a religious Sister. She and her singing partner, Sister Claudia, were generous in sharing their musical talents.

Sister Francis was a woman of deep faith and prayer who found joy in her 35 years as an educator, bringing enthusiasm and energy to everything she did. She loved to recount stories of her years in the classroom. Over the years she taught, as well as being a school Principal, in Hamilton, Dundas, Burlington, Hespeler, Guelph and Milton.

In 1980 she began work as a Parish Minister at St. Augustine’s Parish in Dundas and then went on to serve the pastoral needs of St. John the Baptist Parish in Hamilton. After retiring from Parish Ministry, she became involved in the St Vincent de Paul Society and helped to open and volunteer at St. Vincent’s Value Shop in Hamilton.  She also continued to volunteer in St Augustine’s Parish, Dundas, and began to teach English as a Second Language at the Immigrant Working Centre in Hamilton.

In 2020 Sister Francis moved to Tansley Woods in Burlington, and in 2022 she was welcomed into the London Residence.
