SISTER MARY ST. LOUIS
Mary Agnes was born on July 27, 1934, in Windsor, Ontario and entered the community of the Sisters of St. Joseph on January 3, 1955. She received the religious name Sister Mary of the Eucharist.
Sister Mary spent her life in education as an elementary teacher and Principal for 24 years serving in London, Seaforth, Woodstock and Tillsonburg. She was known for producing musical school productions and is remembered to this day by many of her students. After retiring, Sister Mary transitioned to parish ministry as a pastoral assistant at St. Mary’s Parish, Tillsonburg and St. Simon and Jude Parish, Belle River. Between 1990 – 1995 she served as co-director and spiritual guide at Medaille House/Retreat Centre in London, followed by five years in local leadership at Mount St. Joseph.
Mary was an artist at heart and was known for her love of beauty and creativity as seen in her elegant handwork, music and other decorative pursuits. She enjoyed reading and stimulating conversation. Mary’s quiet gentleness, warmth and acceptance of others will be missed.
