SISTER DOREEN KAMINSKI

Sister Doreen was born in Buffalo, New York in 1935 the daughter of the late Andrew and Agnes (Pilon) Kaminski. She grew up with two brothers and two sisters. Her call to enter religious life brought her to Hamilton in 1952.

Sister Doreen was a woman of deep faith and humility. She began her teaching ministry in 1956 and became a well known and respected educator. Her patience, quiet efficiency, and wry sense of humour endeared her to those she taught and worked with during her 37 years in the classroom. Doreen taught in Hamilton, Brantford, Paris, Dundas, Fort St. John- British Columbia as well as being involved in Parish Ministry in Chetwynd, British Columbia.

Upon her retirement from education Sister Doreen took on the role of Archivist for the Hamilton Congregation. She was engaged in this work for 26 years.  She loved history and had the patience required to keep good annals. She would often share a story from the archives in the dining room. Her clear and concise stories helped to bring our legacy alive to us. When not in the archives, Sister Doreen was involved in the ministries of prayer and visitation of the sick.

Sister Doreen moved to Tansley Woods, Burlington in January 2020 and a year later she was welcomed into the London residence.
